Did You Talk To God As A Kid?

Romans 8:26
In certain ways we are weak, but the Spirit is here to help us. For example, when we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit prays for us in ways that cannot be put into words.
As a child, I heard the voice of God in mockingbirds and in the rhythm of the Cicada’s song. I saw Him in the brightening of a path when I was lost in the woods. Have you ever had an aversion to going to your own way then finding out later there was disaster down the avoided path? I’ve learned to hear and heed that inner still voice. Listen to your God-spark within. And pray with your spirit, giving thanks and praise for all that your Heavenly Father has done for you. Talk to God with the innocence of a child.
Perhaps you did talk to God as a child, but now things are just more complicated and you may have relaxed in your listening for His voice through prayer making it harder to hear His will for you. If this is the case, start back with small prayers of gratitude for the small stuff, not just the big whoppers. And ask for what you need in faith, believing it has happened already. Pray in thanks for the fact that He has already answered your prayer. It says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “and never stop praying“. That is the entire bible verse. I believe it is so short because all that needs to be said is said. It’s kind of a prayer of Infinite instruction, and it doesn’t say just before you go to sleep or just in the morning during your quit time, it just gives one simple time to pray- always. And infinitely. No more filler words need to be added. Everything is in this one simple, short passage. Ponder on this for a while, while listening for God’s voice.
Because God wants us to go to Him with all petitions and request, we should not feel selfish to ask for things that benefit our own lives. Yes, pray for others, but also pray for yourself. This is emphasized in Mathew 7:7 below.
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.
I can’t reiterate enough the importance of praying with belief that God has already answered your prayer. He was already working on it before you asked for His help! You must believe His goodness is there for you to have too! Believe this with faith and conviction. Faith is described as “the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” in Hebrews 11:1. (New Living Translation)
Hebrews 11:1
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
Faith can move mountains and let you walk on water, literally, as stated in God’s Word, the Bible. (Matthew 17:20, Mark 11:23, Matthew 14:22-33 and more) Jesus states this more than once. And you can always trust His Words. So much can be accomplished in one’s life with this practice of faith. Oh the tasks that I have completed with only the belief that I could actually do it! I would actually visualize myself accomplishing it, doing it. It’s the same when you pray. Thank God first, with faith. Also pray that God’s will be done. Your prayer may not always be answered in the way you had wished, but if you pray His will to be done, you can bet it’s what’s best for your growth as a Christian, what brings you closer to your Heavenly Father. This is always what God want’s.
So call to Him, listen and look for Him, believe with faith the all things are possible with God, and then He will answer you. You just have to listen talk and listen to him with the innocence of a child, before life changed. And then you will be well on your way to a more rich life, a more fruitful Christian life. Doesn’t this sound great? I do hopes this helps you draw closer to God. Please comment below how this has helped you, if any. Have a great day, or evening, whichever it is, and happy praying!
